Bear Scat! I'm sure that's not very exciting to most of you, but I thought it was kinda cool...I don't see this on the trails in Austin!
This is part of the Apishapa River that runs back behind one of the pastures next to Lynn's house.
A field of post bloom Thistle. I bet this is really beautiful in the Spring.

The beaver that gnawed this tree down seemed to place it in just the right place! We used this tree to get across the stream.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but this is a bear track...hind foot.

Mmmmm, bear scat! Yummy! Reminds me of good 'ol Steve Irwin and his fascination with animal poop! I'm hoping to see some of this good stuff when we get to NM! I will post pics when I return. We're off on Friday, yea!

LOL I guess showing pictures of animal poop is a little "Steve Irwin" of me. I have pictures of elk poop too if you wanna see it!

Fascinating stuff! And I was there! Well, I didn't go on the hikes, but I can enjoy it all again through your picture series:-) Wonder what it will be like in Winter??? I'm going back up there in Nov. Hope I can get up the roads...
