I'm alive and in the background somewhere...

I've been busy with all the crazy summer activity...family, entertaining kids, big art projects, and lots of cleaning and organizing that has needed taking care of for a long time. If I lose some of you as readers because I don't post a lot that's fine. I never intended to have a huge readership on this blog in the first place. It's really more for me and family than anyone else. But if you folks out there still want to check in from time to time feel free. I'll blog till I can blog no more, but don't expect many updates for a while.

Saw One of my Fav Bands Last Night

One eyed doll can bring it! They have a great show and the singer/lead guitarist Kimberly is about the most bad ass rocker chic. Her drummer, number 3, bangs out a mean beat and together they sound so awesome. You'd think there were a few more band members playing the way they sound so cohesive, not to mention the all out hard punk/metal/glam rocking sound they know how to bring.

Checking In

hello friends and family. So far the summer has been filled with lots of water play, parks, and other fun things for kids to do. I haven't been hiking in a month or so and feel the pull calling me back. The summer heat has been so intense in Texas that I've wimped out of a few hikes I really should have gone on.

Linda if you are reading this I'm sorry I've not been much of a hiking partner or hang out friend lately. I think you understand and it's a good thing we are low maintenance when it comes to keeping up with each other.

In other news, Ben got a bicycle for his birthday and is learning to ride it, I'm sure he will master it in no time. I'm still focusing on art and finished a piece I started years ago. It feels great to get it finished after all that time. I started it in 2004!

I'm working on two new pieces now and hope to have them finished by the end of the week.
What this is all boiling down to, is me getting some art sold. I'm not sure how to go about doing that yet, but I'm sure I can figure it out. I need a portfolio and to go visit some galleries to see what the competition is like. Of course, art is so subjective. I think I'm good, but not great...yet.
