The iris a romantic gesture symbolising faith, cherished friendship, hope, valor and promised love.
Ahhh bless!
The cynical side of me thinks "what a load of bollocks!"
but still a gesture never the less.
Re: The mosaic - I know it doesn't have to be anything but was your inspiration van gogh's sunflowers, a parrots face in profile or something completely random?
Sunny Linguz
The Iris is my favorite flower and has been since I can remember. What a cool tidbit of information about it. Thanks for posting.
The mosaic does have a blooming type theme to it which was not random. Interesting you mentioned a bird as you are the second person to do so.
I have another piece of art that someone sees a bird in too. Could be something to it...
And here is another tid bit of info I came across that I think is interesting.
...Gin brands such as Bombay Sapphire and Magellan Gin use orris root and sometimes iris flowers for flavor and color...
Someone gave me a bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin a few nights ago. I rather like gin and tonic and this is good gin.
That's very British of you, the gin & tonic was initially developed during the Raj as a medicinal aid to help fight malaria in India. A slice of lime not lemon is a sign of a good G&T but both being citrus fruits help to prevent the dreaded scurvy.
chin chin!
Damn! you sure are a fine looking woman of 44....I'm over in NY around June/July time before going back to Blighty. Do you fancy hooking up for a bit of fun?....M
M you flatter me but I am not looking for a hook up. :)
I have always had my gin and tonics with a twist of lime, but now I prefer orange after having one made for me that way. :)
I appologise for my impertinent question earlier I wasn't fully aware of the connotations of the term "to hook up". I think it was taken in the manner of light hearted humour, no offense intended in any taken....M
Oh, you are not from around here...my pardons! :) No worries, I am not offended friend.
44? Lookin' great!
Love your photos you post Ginny. Keep 'em coming!
My wife is a bit of a shutterbug as well.
Hi Rocket thanks and I'm glad you enjoy the photos. :)
Your posted pic would make a good one for your match.com profile.
Hi Joe :) I haven't gone back to my match.com profile in months because I know I won't find anyone there. Most of the men on that site are incredibly boring and I would be way too much for them to handle!
