My Latest Painting

It's a work in progress but I wanted to post this picture for Jesse. He showed interest in a new technique I came up with. This is a canvas that I poured Gesso all over and then made a design in the gesso for texture and as a guide.

The back lighting is so I can see the patterns in the gesso and I'm going to paint those patterns on the top side. You can see that it is started, but no where near finished. This one is going to take a long time as I plan on using many colors and put in as much detail work as I can possibly cram in.

I believe this will be one of my best paintings to date when it is finished.

It looks very organic. I like, especially the red. Is it for sale?

The detail is extraordinary. I can't wait to see how this evolves: you are immensely talented.

Hi Sean! It's good to see your gorgeous mug again. :)

After this painting is finished it will be for sale. If you like the finished product and want to buy it, I will certainly put your name on it. :)

I will keep updating with photos as I progress with this.

Hi Carmi! Another cool friend I haven't seen in a while. Thank you very much for the high praise. I think you are immensely talented too. I need to get by your blog soon and check out your photography. :)

Hey Valatan! I think you will enjoy seeing this as it evolves because it is going to be very dimensional and have many layers to get lost in. :)

Ginny,

the layers and layers of process you are putting into this painting will reveal something to you as you continue that excercise.

Stay the course with it even if you have to completely take yourself out of it to clear your consciousness. At those times go outside and look at the ground... the dirt and gaze upon it with high energy so that you can get the return from the incoming gift from that process.

Keep it up.... =)

That is gorgeous... you might have to get a bidding war between Sean and I though.

:-D

Thank you all for your high praise.

Poodles...a bidding war huh. Well I'm leaving that between you and Sean! lol

Hi Jesse. I know what you mean about looking at the ground. I do that a lot actually when I'm out hiking or backpacking. I like to look at small river rocks in all their shape and variety and study the intricate shadows, layers, color variations, etc. It always inspires me.

Thank you for the encouragement! I will stay the course. I am loving this piece so far and hope to have time to work on it soon.

Emily, thanks for commenting and stopping by to see it. :) I saw your stamping up blog and that is very cool. I love the name you came up with. :)

It is SO great to see that you are embracing your artist side once again! My only artistic outlet lately has been Halloween costumes. I've done a cheetah for the Monkey Man and a woodland fairy for the Piggle. I am "Queen of the Wings" right now, I am considering making them to sell. Drop by the blog if you care to see them. Don't know if there is a market for that sort of thing or not? I had loads of fun making them though! We should get together sometime soon, it's been too long.
