It's slow going but there is progress

I'm now the lowest I've weighed in probably 9 years or so and still losing. It's ever so slow though because I'm not dieting. Typically I'll lose five or ten pounds, then gain them back and hold onto the weight a while, then I'll lose that weight again and some. What's that saying? Three Steps forward, one step back? I guess that pretty much describes it.

10 pounds lighter since my last weight news

This makes my weight loss total so far a little over 60lbs. I still have another 60-70lbs to lose, but I'm not worried about it. The weight has come off so easily I'm amazed. At this point it's all a matter of time and patience to finally be thin again.

I am getting closer and closer to my goal of treating myself to a wild cave tour. I could probably squeeze through the cave I have in mind now, but that would be cheating. I have to meet my goal first.

In weight loss news...

I've mentioned before that I'm losing weight but wasn't sure I was going to make it very public in case I failed and didn't lose what I intended. Well I met my first goal. I've lost 50 pounds since around xmas time and am still losing. It's coming off ever so slowly but at least it is coming off. There is so much adventure I want and can't have it until I get in excellent shape. Rock climbing, wild caving, etc...are all on my list of things to accomplish within the next year. Wish me luck and iron will.

So I've lost some weight....

I didn't really start out trying to either. It's all the hiking and walking I've been doing and it's doing amazing things for my metabolism. I've been walking or hiking almost everyday now for a couple of weeks. It's paying off too in several ways. For instance, my clothing...especially a pair or two of my jeans, are getting lose on me. I'm constantly having to pull them up! I also have more endurance, can walk further and even go up several flights of stairs before getting winded. Go me!

I think the catalyst that got it all started was I decided to go back on anti-depressants. This time I found a drug with the help of my doctor that is working well for me so far. It's got me back in a motivated state and I'm not in front of the computer as much anymore. I have so many pictures to share too, and am trying to decide how to make them available to friends and family.

I'm also trying to decide if I want to chronicle my weight loss here or not. I feel like I need to journal it someway, but might only mention it here from time to time...that is if I'm doing a good job. *grin*
