Checking In

hello friends and family. So far the summer has been filled with lots of water play, parks, and other fun things for kids to do. I haven't been hiking in a month or so and feel the pull calling me back. The summer heat has been so intense in Texas that I've wimped out of a few hikes I really should have gone on.

Linda if you are reading this I'm sorry I've not been much of a hiking partner or hang out friend lately. I think you understand and it's a good thing we are low maintenance when it comes to keeping up with each other.

In other news, Ben got a bicycle for his birthday and is learning to ride it, I'm sure he will master it in no time. I'm still focusing on art and finished a piece I started years ago. It feels great to get it finished after all that time. I started it in 2004!

I'm working on two new pieces now and hope to have them finished by the end of the week.
What this is all boiling down to, is me getting some art sold. I'm not sure how to go about doing that yet, but I'm sure I can figure it out. I need a portfolio and to go visit some galleries to see what the competition is like. Of course, art is so subjective. I think I'm good, but not great...yet.

Glad to hear you are having fun and getting things done. Sorry I don't know enough about art to offer advice.

I'm with you, I've had the art bug lately as well. I'm halfway through a piece I started on Sunday. So far I'm very happy with it, it's a piece for my own home, so I can do what I like. I too would love to get to a point where I could use my art as a way to enhance my income. But like you say, it is so subjective, and honestly I am so sporadic in my output! But you would think between photography and art and everything else we are so talented at, that we would be able to do SOMETHING with that! At least that's what I dream of!

You and me both Trina. I am dripping with artistic talents...not to brag too much or anything, but I'm going to waste these talents if I don't get on the ball.

I'm painting like a demon and hope to get a booth out at the Arts Festival next time it comes...I should have many paintings done by then...I hope! If you want to go in on a booth together let me know.
