More art
I was with friends last night and we all decided to do some drawing. This was the first thing that came to mind and what I ended up with by the close of the evening.

Melts my heart...
I just love it when my three year old son comes up to me and wraps his little arms around me and says so sweetly "I love you mommy". It makes my day.

Writers
I sometimes wonder how serious writers write the stuff they do. Like the auther of Harry Potter. Did she just sit down one day and start writing what ever came to mind and then sort it all out later? Or do they think of a story in their head first, outline it all, and then put in the filling? The process is interesting to me. I'd like to write a book someday, but have no clue where to start! Ah well, something to dig into later...

Nature walks
There have been times in the past when I would be on a walk with my sister and brother, and I'd find all kinds of neat nature stuff to check out. One time, we were out walking in a river bed that was partially dried up with little pools of water here and there. That day I found a snake, several crawdads, a few cool birds, the obligatory creek minnows and tadpoles of course. Oh and let's not forget a dragonfly nymph or two, which by the way are UGLY and gross. Blech...I'm repulsed by them yet somehow can't turn away when I've found one. Gives me the willies just thinking about it. Amazing how they transform into a really cool and often beautiful insect though..
Lynn was amazed at all I discovered to look at, since she and Lee saw none of it until I found it. She said I was "Nature Girl" or something to that affect. Not to brag about myself, but I do have a knack for that kind of thing. I've studied nature first hand plenty, and have done so for almost as long as I can remember. The internet is a BIG help now days. Too bad there wasn't an internet around when I was a kid.
I love it when I'm on a walk with Ben and we discover something cool. It's so neat to be able to explain things to him and show him things he hasn't seen before. I hope he continues to love nature as much as I do.

March of the Penguins
This was a wonderful film that I highly recommend. The camera work was utterly fabulous and the birds themselves are some of the most amazing animals I've seen on film.
